RE: Juliana Aires Franceschini
Miss Juliana Aires Franceschini is a Master’s candidate in the
Faculty of Architecture, History of Architecture Program and she
will be completing her second semester at the end of 2000 – 2001
Spring Semester. The History of Architecture Program in the
Middle East Technical University is a minimum of four semesters
towards a Master’s degree.
Miss Juliana Aires Franceschini, has taken a lecture course with
me during the Fall semester and she is now taking another one
this semester. She is an attentive and hard working student, has
the discipline to make research by herself and produces
excellent papers as part of the course work. For her Master’s
thesis she is planning to concentrate on a comperative study on
eastern and western architecture with a special focus on the
transmission of certain themes or certain architectural elements.
I will highly recommend her for the extension of her scholarship
which will enable her to complete the program.
Sincerely,
Prof.Dr.Ömür Bakirer
Middle East Technical University
Faculty of Architecture
Department of Architecture.

Turkish Rotary Club Scholarship Programme
Of Districts 2420, 2430, 2440 – Rotary International
Dear Committee Members,
First of all I would like to thank you immensely for providing
me the scholarship program during two semesters (2000 – 2001)
for my masters studies at Middle East Technical University. I am
deeply grateful to have been chosen to come to Turkey and
experience the life, the culture, the people and the education
system here. After spending seven months in Turkey I feel myself
so happy and realized. I learned to love Turkey as my own
country.
The experience in METU has been great and I am enjoying the
courses I have been taking and the teachers who are so competent
and helpful. I would like to continue my studies in METU in the
next two semesters (2001 – 2002), as the master program lasts
two years. In this way I will be able to present my Thesis and
hopefully be graduated in July 2002.
I appreciate your concern about this matter and I am really
hoping the possibility of obtaining other 9 months of the
scholarship, if possible, or half-scholarship from the Turkish
Rotary Clubs, so then I can give continuation to my studies.
Thank you again,
Sincerely,
Juliana Aires Franceschini.
